My Airport Review:

Alesund Airport is a medium size airport and it’s very easy to find your way around inside the security area.
The only thing I can set my finger on is that there is no store in the check in hall, there is nothing before you pass the security check and are in the waiting aria.

There are no Jet bridges so you are exposed to rain and wind when you go from the terminal to the plane, the plus it’s not too long walk so it’s not too bad.
But if it’s much rain and wind and that happens often at AES so can you get little wet before you get in the plane.

In the terminal so have you 2 kiosks that selling hot-dogs and baguettes and so on and one restaurant where you can get a beer or whatever.
The food there is not too bad I guess like in every airport but some overpriced like everything else in Norway.

You have the domestic flights on the ground floor so they are very easy to find when you pass the security check. In the second floor they have the flights to other cities in Europe.

How it is to sleep in the airport? I don’t know since I have never done it but I know it’s possible to do so if you have an early flight and it’s the best solution for you, but in general so is the waiting area not made for sleepovers.

So, all in all an ok airport that don’t have to many shops and is not to stressing to sit and wait for your boarding. It's usually a quiet airport with not too much noise and that is good.

Plus (+):

  • Small airport so it's easy to navigate.
  • Quiet airport.

Minus (-):

  • No shops outside the security area.
  • High prices on food
  • Have no jet bridges, so easy to get wet if it is rain on the way to or from the plane.
